"Staircase among the clutter"
We focus too much on our individual pursuits that today’s built reality demands, and give little time to consider the larger picture and our connections with the unknown. Maybe it is to distract us, because the big questions are too scary. But in doing so, we live lives disconnected from our deeper connection with each other and with the planet. Technology seems to fill the gap of the large human connection we desire, but its false face and true isolation leave us empty. Humans are amazing beings, creatures, things, however we want to describe ourselves, but really, what are we? We should face these questions head-on and challenge our daily lives. Challenge our perceptions and beliefs. We should strive to connect on a deeper level and embrace life’s mysteries.
The project’s goals are to promote and introduce self-transcendence among the profane world of the self. Give the campus community a “Staircase among the clutter.” Facilities will connect with the institute with the integration of technology that promotes real-life connections and uses technology to affirm our values and our direction. To make up for where current technology leaves us all empty and asking for more. To give a space that promotes cooperation, contemplation of something greater, self-reflection, and discovery. The Religious Research Center will welcome everyone to discover any and all religions to foster interest in understanding life and to challenge and grow personal beliefs. In conclusion, the center’s goal is to attempt to reconnect visitors to basic, fundamental, and authentic connections that Humans have to our communities, our planet, and our connected lives.
